Missouri Lease Agreements
A lease agreement is a legally binding contract between the landlord and the tenant. Whether a residential lease or a commercial lease, the agreement will define the rights each party has as well as any restrictions of each party.
When dealing with residential leases, most of these agreements are adhesion contracts. They are agreements that are normally boiler plate contracts that have been mass printed and don’t allow the tenant to negotiate any of its terms.
Commercial leases are usually the same boiler plate, pre-printed, forms but allow the tenant more of an opportunity to negotiate the agreement. Commercial leases can be quite complex and are usually 3-5 year terms or even more. The terms could also detail certain tenant improvements.

While leases may seem pretty straight forward, you might get caught in a unfavorable agreement with no way out; especially with a commercial lease. Having an experienced attorney help you during the process can provide a detailed explanation of the agreement and negotiate favorable terms.
